Florida Self-Defense: Home invasion suspect fatally shot outside Pine Hills home :: 02/22/2017
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man shot two armed men, killing one of them, after they broke into his mother’s home Tuesday morning, deputies said.
Orange County deputies said the two men broke into a home on Perrine Drive a little before 10:45 a.m.
The homeowner told deputies that the two home invaders held her at gunpoint and made several demands.
The homeowner’s son ran to get a gun and then fired in self-defense, deputies said.
Both of the suspected home invaders were hit. One of the men died in the front yard, while the other went to Florida Hospital in Winter Park on his own. He was later taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.
Authorities said they don’t know if a third person was involved as a driver.
